ORIGINAL ARTWORK // fisherman

Story behind this artwork :

One of my most bizarre experiences was visiting Tolyatti. This city in the USSR known as a 'spiritual center' is located next to the Volga River. In winter it is so cold that the river freezes and you can walk on it. During that period you see a lot of fishermen, they saw an opening in the ice, crawl into a plastic bag and wait for a beautiful fish for hours, (in an average temperature of  -20 ° C ...) When they have a bite, most fishermen throw their catch back in the ice. I spoke to them and they explained to me that their goal was not catching fish, it was all about catching 'vibrations' and feeling what was happening under the ice. For them this was the fascinating game between man and fish. Then I understood, fishing is meditating.

  • Why this shape?
Let me reverse the question, why are 99,9% of the artwork rectangular there where our vision has no square angels ...The curved shape of this artwork is defined by a 'golden curve-ratio formula which gives you a calm image.
